Problem with Camera - NI IMAQ 18.5 and Bassler Camera under W10
Hi
I used to read out a Basler camera operating with Labview 2017 and Ni IMAQ 18.5 for 1year and since October 2018 (after a windows update) the camera freezes/stops working arbitrarily (after 2 or 700 images). The error I get is
"Error -1074396077 occurred at IMAQ Symmetry"
but just because no image is delivered.
Closing Labview and opening it works again mostly. Sometimes, even this does not help. If I try to access the camera with NI Max I get another error "Error 0xFFFF34D9".
National Instruments suggested to upgrade to 18.5 (no change), check the hardware (not the issue) and change the windows energy saving option "enable USB control to save energy" (no influence).
This set up worked well for quite some years, with regular maintenance of the hardware. Only after a recent W10 update, several issues came up (OPC problems, afs client and this) but all were solved by patches except the camera issue.
Do anyone of you have similar issues? Or even a solution?

Get Last Event - Click Event returned coordinates incorrect
Hi
I need to get the pixel a user clicks on in my IMAQ image. We are not using an IMAQ camera. Our old method had to do a lot of maths with co-ordinates on mouse click, image position and working out relative positions.
This example is exactly what I want to do, and works on my computer beautifully.
As my image is in a VI in a subpanel I wrapped the above example in a subpanel and it still works.
However when I try to use this in my application it doesn't work with the mouse up event.
My image size is 1280 x 1024.
The point click event returns one of 4 values pairs depending on the quadrant clicked [0,0] [640,0] [0,511] or [640,511]. Interesting this is 1/2 image size.
Mouse location returns corrects co-ordinates. Zoom tool returns correct co-ordinates. So not sure what is wrong.
Any suggestions?
I will use mouse location in the meantime as its probably close enough, but it would be nice to know why the coordinates event is not working.

71MP USB3 Pleora Camera with Vision Builder
Hi:
I'm working with Vision Builder 2018 and a camera with 71MP USB3 from opto engineering, that is using a Pleora iPORT NTx-U3 PT03-PBOUP01-128xU.
It connects fine but after some captures the camera disconnects and start to get the Timeout error.
It seems that can´t acquire any image.
Can you help me to see if there is something wrong with the Imaqdx driver.
Im using the IMAQdx 2018 version.

Canny edge detection in VBAI
Hi Guys,
I need to use the Canny filter in VBAI 2015 f3, unfortunately it doesn't seem to have it. Also Vision Assistant inside Vision Builder seems to be limited and doesn't have that filter. Is there any way to implement Canny into my VBAI code?

Controlling the fps of avi when we saved the AVI video?!

Now I am working with the webcam (logitech C920) and I am adding the AVI code in the labview example (Grab and Basic Attributes.vi) to save the video as attached file. The webcam runs well at 30 fps before starting video recording. But the fps drops sharply when I start the video recording and changes depending on the resolution of video (ex. 1920x1080: 12 fps, 1600 x 896: 15 fps, 1280 x 720: 20~30 fps). I want to record the video at constant fps (ex. 10 fps, 15 fps, ...). If you have an idea about this problem, please let me know. Thanks for all your help!

Can an inspection be good & run using only VBAI?

Can I use IMAQ Extract Tetgraon (ROI) to extract an annulus?
I saw this question was answered back to 2013, with the answer being to use the IMAQ Unwrap tool. Thing is, I don't want to unwrap. I just want a donut-shaped image. Has anything been added since 2013 to let me do this? (BTW, I'm using LV2015.)

Missing Image Processing and Machine Vision

My trouble is on Block diagram it's missing "Image processing" and "Machine vision".
Now I already install NI-Vision Builder and NI-Vision Acquisition.

What is the algorithm of NIVision's circular/ellipse detection
Hi,
I recently tried a circular/ellipse detection using OpenCV fitellipse and NI's shape(circular/ellipse) Detection using an incomplete circle image.I found
1. NI's results much better than OpenCV.
2. Find Circular Edge get a little different result with shape(circular/ellipse) Detection.(Circular and ellipse detection in Shape Detection obtained the same result.)
I wander what is the algorithm behind the 'find circular edge1' and circles/ellipses of 'shape detection 1'. If you can show me the link or the clue I would be great appreciated.

Unable to uninstall NI-IMAQ
Hello,
I am on Windows 7,
Due to a video capture card discovery error I can not uninstall NI-IMAQ Runtime Engine 18.5 to install an earlier version:
the NI Package Manager does not see the NI-IMAQ execution engine, yet it is present in NI-MAX and the NI Vision Acquisition Software 18.0 installer. This one says to me: "a version of the more recent NI-IMAQ execution engine is already installed".
If you have an idea about this problem?

video capture card error
Hello,
in NI-MAX I have this error message when I try to select the input of a video capture card: "Error 0xBFFF8013 Unable to find a valid camera file for this device in the NI-IMAQ \ data directory."
While on another computer the same card is working.
I tried uninstalling NI-IMAQ and reinstalling the same version as on the other computer without success.
If you have an idea about the origin of the problem?

help with moving image inspection
Hello,
I am trying to develop a machine vision system to read and measure a liquid height in a tube vs. time. in my experiments, The foam decreases in a tube and I need to measure the height every second or so. I want to automate this experiment. I want the instrument to recognize the height and give me height vs time graph.
I am a beginner, so I need to know what software I need and if there is any template for coding, and what kind of high-speed camera I need. thank you so much for your assistance.

Issues in dispaying 8bit image
Good day
I am having an issues using Sentech STC-MBA5MUSB3 mono USB3 camera Labview SDK. The demo SDK cannot display the image properly when using 8bits but it can display properly for 10bits or 12bits. Kindly advise how I can display the image properly with 8bits. Please refer to the attached file for the 8bit, 10bit and 12bit image.

acquire images from gigE camera with CVS 1458RT without NI software
Hello,
I have basler ace gigE camera, NI CVS 1458 RT, PC. Images from camera are available using NI MAX or other NI software. Is there a way to acquire images from cam (connected to NI CVS) on PC without NI MAX and NI software? For example, by using python or C++.

Error 0xBFF6901E Unable to read/write to file
NI MAX application finds my GigEVision 2.0 camera but immediately reports "Error 0xBFF6901E Unable to read/write to file" after reading a handful of GigEVision registers, the last one being Pending Timeout register. After that it tries to get control access to the camera once again without releasing the first successful access control. Anyone seen anything like this?

RTSP cctv hikvision as a input for image processing
I have a problem to connect my CCTV for image processing at LabVIEW. I tried to connect my camera but my camera has an RTSP URL not HTTP, can anyone help me with this. I can do my program with my webcam-built in a camera from my laptop and it was fine. but when I try to connect my VI to my IP camera, I don't know how to do it, since they cant appear to MAX Devices and Interfaces. Please help, Thank you
